Villa Red

A grand old red-brick pile built in 1886 for Otto von Bismarck and recently revamped to make more of its historical character, this is one of the most characterful places to slumber on the Baltic coast. Rooms resemble well-stocked antique emporia, though modern bathrooms and the latest flat-screen TVs puncture the 19th-century illusion. The grand theme continues in the restaurant.
