In a gleaming open-sided complex near Plaça de les Glòries Catalanes, the ‘Market of Charms’ is Barcelona's biggest flea market, and one of Europe's oldest, with its roots in medieval times. More than 500 vendors ply their wares beneath massive mirror-like panels. It’s all here, from antique furniture to secondhand clothes. There's a lot of junk, plus the odd ganga (bargain).
Catch some behind-the-scenes action from 7.45am to 9.30am Monday, Wednesday and Friday, when the subhastes (auctions) take place.
