Hotel Tutto Restaurant

Top choice in Mavrovo National Park

The owner of Tutto is a founding member of North Macedonia's Slow Food organisation, and his enthusiasm for local produce is infused in the restaurant kitchen. Macedonian specialities such as slow-roast lamb and pita (coiled filo pastry pies stuffed with spinach and cheese) are a must, and there are always fresh mushrooms on the menu, picked from the surrounding forest.

Grab a table on the wonderful dining terrace that looks onto the ramshackle village of crumbling 19th-century stone houses, high in the hills of Mavrovo. Note that some restaurant dishes require preordering a few hours ahead.

The local produce shop – in the reception area – sells mountain foods including porcini mushrooms, herbal teas, walnuts and rakija (grape-based fruit brandy).
