One of the two original 1927 Orient Express train carriages at Glenlo Abbey Hotel was used in the filming of Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express and was also part of Winston Churchill's 1965 funeral cortège. Sepia lamps, inlaid wood panelling, plush upholstery, white tablecloths and piped 1940s and 1950s music create an impossibly romantic setting for fine dining.
Expect dishes such as broth with bladderwrack, miso and mussels, and duck with fermented gooseberry and trout caviar. Vegetarians will delight in the entire menu devoted to their needs.
