Our favourite new hotel in Budapest, the Aria is a music-themed affair built around an old townhouse, with Jazz, Opera, Classical and Pop Wings. Each of the 49 rooms has a balcony and bears the name of a musician or composer – they are also filled with portraits of, books about and CDs by the same. There's a fabulous wellness centre in the basement.
From the delightful lobby, where there’s live piano music (and free wine and cheese for guests) from 4pm to 6pm, follow the black-and-white piano keys on the lobby floor to the lift and the stupendous High Note Roof Bar. More great extras are the fully loaded multimedia library and the small cinema with films and more music off the lobby.
