Hotel De Hallen

Amsterdam

Part of the De Hallen cultural centre, housed in what were once tram sheds, this designer hotel has cool features, from a swing in the lobby to the industrial-chic 57 rooms, all of which have Coco-Mat mattresses, Nespresso machines and minibars. Sleek public spaces include restaurant Remise47, lounge areas, a bar and a wraparound, sun-shaded terrace. Breakfast costs €20.

There are also six similarly stylish loft-style apartments (see www.apartmentsdehallen.com) available, with a minimum seven-night stay.
