Shamshirgarha Bazaar

Shiraz

For foreign visitors, one of the most interesting parts of the covered alleyways of Bazar-e Vakil is coming across the Shamshirgarha Bazaar. Housed under a long arcade off the bazaar's main thoroughfare, it is dedicated to a host of tribal handicrafts. The kilims, rugs and camel bags for sale are in predominantly primary hues and make for a riot of colour.

A nearby stall sells the felt hats famously worn by the nomads of the nearby Zagros Mountains.
