After a failed revolt in Venezuela in 1812, Simón Bolívar fled to Curaçao with his two sisters, who were accommodated in this oddly shaped beach house. Now on the grounds of the Avila Beach Hotel, the building has been restored and contains a small museum housing a temporary exhibition on the hotel's history. The space is also used for receptions, poetry readings and other events.
