Hidden Hut

Top choice in South Cornwall

Hidden indeed: this coastal-cabin cafe on Porthcurnick Beach is so tucked away, you might miss it even if you've been here before. The wooden cabin was built as a wartime lookout, but now serves delicious beach food: grilled cheese toasts, hot soups, proper cakes and 'beach salads'. During summer, there are pop-up 'feast nights' once or twice a week.

The only seating is on benches, but with views like this, who wants to sit indoors? It's a 500m walk north to the hut from Portscatho.
