Palacio del Generalife

Granada

This whitewashed country house served as the sultan's summer palace on the Alhambra. In the Generalife gardens, it boasts a series of delightful courtyards – in the second one, the trunk of a 700-year-old cypress tree suggests what delicate shade would once have graced the area.

Admission is included in the Alhambra ticket.
