Here at the entrance to the national park is the former holiday home of Cecil Rhodes, converted into a hotel in 1933. It features tropical verandahs and English gardens overlooking the Nyanga Dam. There are rondavels as well as rooms, some that have furniture used by the man himself.
His actual house is where the restaurant is now, and makes for a good spot for lunch (mains from US$9); it also has the cosy Anglers Inn pub.
