Antico Caffè Greco

Tridente, Trevi & the Quirinale

Casanova, Goethe, Wagner, Keats, Byron, Shelley and Baudelaire were all regulars at Rome's oldest and most elegant cafe, which opened in 1760. Prices reflect this amazing heritage: pay nearly four times more if you sit at a table rather than stand at the bar. If you opt for the latter, be sure to exit through the elegant interior salons to admire the furnishings.
