This flawlessly designed 10-acre hotel is an example of how to build an ecofriendly resort. The 58 rooms are built into the jungle hillside and accented by rich woods and bold splashes of tropical colors. They come with balconies offering magnificent views across the jungle and ocean. All guests get free shuttles to Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio and the beach.
The hotel has two pools (one with a waterslide for kids and one for adults only, both with swim-up bars), two Jacuzzis, a superb health spa and two excellent restaurants, each with a barefoot luxury vibe and serving fresh, locally sourced artisan food. There's also a butterfly garden, a cinema and spa. Sustainable construction and practices include energy-efficient air-con units, recycling water for landscaping use, solar-powered water heaters, and biodegradable cleaning and laundry products. No surprise, then, that Sí Como No is one of a few dozen hotels in the country to have been awarded five out of five leaves by the government-run Certified Sustainable Tourism (CST) campaign.
