This gently luxurious hotel, around 1km west of town, sits amid wooded gardens beside the clifftop path, with a direct passage down to the wild seashore below. Floors of sanded wood and burlap carpet lead up to spacious rooms, many with balconies that enjoy enviable sea views.
Built in 1895, and a hotel since 1905, it has been so heavily restored that from outside it looks essentially new, flanked by a spa in which guests get free use of sauna, hammam and steam room.
