The fabulous style of this Old West hotel – all Native American blankets, cowboy gear and leather accents – is matched only by its love of taxidermy. Rooms in the original 1927 building are small, without tables, chairs or TVs, but have great bathrooms; larger options surrounding the lovely pool in the Los Portales annex are still very tasteful, and more expensive.
Room 10 is rumored to be haunted, but our slumber there was disappointingly ghost-free.
