Enjoying ski-in, gondola-out privileges at the foot of Blackcomb Mountain, the Fairmont is like a 'village' within the Village. Chateau-esque in nature and grand in scale, it's not nearly as old as other Canadian landmark hotels, although the huge campus includes designer shops, a spa, gym, pools (it's plural here!) and a sprawling bar worthy of a baronial castle.
Popular with the conference crowd off-season, rooms here are large and well-equipped with armchairs, desks and quality quilts. For the ultimate in luxury, upgrade to 'Fairmont gold' on the 8th floor which has its own lounge with complimentary afternoon cocktails and canapés.
