Providence Biltmore

The granddaddy of Providence's hotels, the Biltmore dates from the 1920s, although its 292 oversized guest rooms and suites have been thoroughly refurbished to a high standard, stretching many stories above the old city: ask for a room on a high floor. The lobby, both intimate and regal, nicely combines dark wood, twisting staircases and chandeliers, harking back to a lost age.
