Luneta Hotel

Manila

The French Renaissance–style Luneta Hotel is symbolic of Manila's intent to return to its pre-war glory. Originally opened in 1918, the hotel survived WWII only to slip into decay. Restored and reopened in 2014, the elegant heritage-listed building has a range of excellent-value rooms that retain plenty of Old World flavour. The flashiest quarters have wrought-iron balconies overlooking Rizal Park.

The opulent lobby with gleaming coffee shop adds another layer of class.
