This functional and fashionable new French–run hotel adds another splash of originality to Makati's up-and-coming Poblacion area. The 14 rooms come in a mix of styles, but all are heavy on brushed concrete, recycled wood, pendant lamps and groovy furniture. Rooms are well sound-proofed and half have balconies. Downstairs is a beautiful, bright cafe.

You don't give much away in opting for the standard over the deluxe rooms, except for a bit of size. The huge baths in the suites are fit for a king and queen.
