Surrounded by gardens, just off the main highway at the north end of town, Alpamayo is a pleasant touristic restaurant, complete with a garden gazebo, table football, music on Sundays and Peruvian classics like trout, cuy (guinea pig) or chicharrónes (fried pork skins) to dig into. The clincher: homemade ice cream for dessert. It's popular with hungry post-hiking tour groups.
