El Hombre

North Coast

El Hombre is the original surfers’ hostel and is run by the daughter of local legend ‘El Hombre,’ a surfer guru who’s now into his 90s but still resides here. Facing the ocean, the hostel has dead-simple rooms with communal bathrooms and more spacious options with private bathrooms in an annex with a great lounge overlooking the town's famous wave.

There's a shared kitchen and communal TVs often seen flickering with surf videos.
