Up on the hill but lacking hill views, Masurina is the best bargain in Alotau if you opt for their budget rooms (all with bathroom and aircon). The larger deluxes are comfortable, the apartments are ideal for families, airport transfers are free and so is wi-fi (hallelujah!). Then there's Jeff's, the most happenin' restaurant in town, and owners occasionally give free lifts.
