Al Reem Desert Camp

Top choice in Oman

This lovely little camp, located away from other camps and yet accessible by saloon car (except after rains), is on the fringe of a unique hem of desert, marked by an abundance of native ghaf (a desert tree with pendulant branches). The location offers a blissfully quiet, authentic experience, in a neighbourhood frequented by the Bedouin.

Book ahead to be sure of a bed and some supper. Near the town of Bani Bu Hassan, the camp is signposted from the main road (Hwy 35). Those hoping for a roll in the sands in a brutal 4WD will be disappointed as the dunes here are gently undulating and don't reach heights.
