There are two new zip lines that adventurers can hop on to travel across Grand Canyon West at speeds of up to 50 miles an hour. The lines are nearly 1000 feet above the canyon floor and there are two different experiences to choose from.

The first line runs at approximately 1100 feet in length. The second, much steeper zip line, is nearly double that in length with a steeper downhill projection. From here, you can take in views of Quartermaster Canyon while propelling along. Each of the two routes has four parallel lines, meaning you can get to experience it in a group or even try and race against each other.

The zip line is part of the Grand Canyon Resort Corporation, on the Hualapai Reservation in Arizona. In a statement, the Corporation promised that the “zip line at Grand Canyon West gives our guests a unique adrenaline surge that will be one of the longest and most exciting zip lines found anywhere in the world.”

The northern boundary of the reservation runs alongside the Grand Canyon and the Colorado River and as well as the zip line, you can stay overnight in camping lodges, take tours by jeep, boat or by helicopter, go horseback riding or visit their skywalk that stretches out from the canyon 4000 feet above ground.

The Grand Canyon zip line is open every Tuesday to Friday from 9am to 4pm and you do not need to book tickets in advance. It starts at $89 per person.
