Noah’s Ark Backpackers

This former monastery came to be known as Noah's Ark when locals arrived for shelter after a flood. The name lives on, though it now houses a wildly colourful hostel. Modern hand-painted murals muddle alongside antique fireplaces; add in the sunset-worthy deck, free bikes and fishing rods, and hospitable service, and Noah's is a winning combination.

Each room is themed around a different animal; the pink piggie room is among the most popular but we're partial to the chamber of cheetahs.
