Double Black

Wanaka

An unexpectedly good caffeine oasis in a new residential development at the foot of Mt Iron. The coffee is good and the quinoa kumara fritters with curried lentils and grilled haloumi won us. The inviting deck successfully blocks out the houses, but keeps the mountains in the frame.

If you're hiking on Mt Iron and you take the zigzag trail off the back of the mountain, you'll come out just a few minutes' walk from the cafe.
