Carrusca Mar & Sol

Northern Mozambique

At Carrusca Mar & Sol it's all about the beach, which has a wild, windswept, desert-island feel, at least during the week (weekends can be unpleasantly crowded). Accommodation wise you're talking fairly rustic. The handful of spacious bungalows have hammocks and terraces, and are set on a rise between the mangroves and one of the best stretches of sand.

There’s also a restaurant featuring fresh seafood (meals from about Mtc550), a small children’s playground and sunset views of Mozambique Island. It’s about 2km south of Chocas town, en route to Cabaceira Pequena. Bookings are essential on weekends and holidays.
