Galerie d'Art Damgaard

Danish art collector Frederic Damgaard first visited Essaouira in the 1960s and stayed. He was one of the first people to bring the artistic work of Swiri fishermen and farmers to international attention and opened his eponymous gallery in 1988. This pioneering art space is still exhibiting monumental works of the Essaouira School’s painters and wood sculptors.
