Comptoir

Gueliz & Ville Nouvelle

Le Comptoir is one of Marrakesh's most fabled nights out. The glitzy ground floor is reserved for diners and packs out on weekends with Casa playboys, glamour-puss Marrakshis and expat veterans. Up a grand sweeping staircase, the 1st floor morphs into a club space with after-dinner DJs and dancing from midnight. The back garden, strung with star lanterns, is an atmospheric bar.

This spot is famed for its glitzy weekend entertainment (cabaret, belly dancers etc), which takes to the floor at 10pm downstairs and at midnight upstairs. Book ahead on weekends and dress to impress, whatever the night. Sunday through to Thursday is a tad more sedate, with local bands.
