Gold Shops

Fez

Historically only Jews were allowed to sell gold jewellery in Fez, and the shops clustered in and just outside Bab El Magana (Clock Gate) are still the primary place to buy it. They have some fine Morocco-specific jewellery, such as filigree Hands of Fatima – or more contemporary glitter-plastic versions on fine gold chains.
