Resting on your laurels in the leafy, music-filled Jardín de las Rosas is a Morelia rite of passage – the university is around the corner and the music conservatory across the road. Of the half-dozen easy-on-the-wallet cafes that line the gardens, this one is arguably the best courtesy of its house-roasted coffee, solid breakfasts (with free fruit plate, M$65 to M$99) and hip decor.
Pull up a chair and watch the legion of music students who flop down to tune up, discuss Rachmaninoff concertos, and – occasionally – break into song.
