Aqua Luna

Puerto Escondido

In contrast to the beach shacks often beloved of surfers, Aqua Luna offers cool, contemporary black-and-white minimalism with a few nods to Mexican style (a poolside palapa and a panoramic deck with a hot tub). The brainchild of an Aussie surfer, it still attracts plenty of boarders thanks to excellent-value rooms, some with kitchen. All-day breakfasts and light dishes are served at the poolside bar.

Big discounts for monthly stays. No under-18s allowed.
