El Típico

Oaxaca City

This bright lunch spot serves up hearty helpings of home-style Oaxacan favourites to an appreciative, mostly local clientele. Daily specials usually include one of four different Oaxacan moles served on chicken or beef, and another good bet is the guías con tasajo – a thick vegetable soup accompanied by a large tlayuda with melted cheese and a slab of tasajo (thinly sliced grilled beef).

Friendly service, bright check tablecloths and fresh flowers contribute to the warm ambience.
