Guests come here to soak up the old-fashioned charm and sense of history that permeates pretty much every corner of this atmospheric hotel. Its 53 rooms are comfortable and spacious, if a little faded. Some have attractive exposed roof beams. There's a good restaurant and bar (plus slanting balcony, a legacy of its construction 200 years ago).
Its Sunday breakfast buffet (M$160) is a local institution. It has a plumb position overlooking the small and pretty Jardín Juárez.
