Casa del Solar

Isla Cozumel

Six rooms, all with comfortable beds and some with the old house's original tile floors, overlook a sunny courtyard with a large mamey (sapote) tree. Coffee is made each morning in a common kitchen. Like many budget guesthouses, this one has its quirks: at last visit, wi-fi was spotty and one room's electric water heater delivered harmless but eye-opening shocks.

The Argentine owner Teresa is very helpful.
