La Norberta

Top choice in Cholula

A cantina is a traditional Mexican bar with food, but Norberta forgoes saloon doors to welcome in families and young, discerning diners to eat mole enchiladas (chicken-filled tortillas in a spiced sauce), aguachile (lime-cured prawns), soups, salads and tacos at the kitsch-chic Formica tables in the courtyard. Naturally there's mezcal, pulque (fermented alcohol) and a wide selection of beer, for tradition.

Live music is sometimes gently performed on weekend evenings.
