Hotel Machado

Gorgeous Plaza Machado's only hotel is a mixed bag. Despite its lovely facade and the funky charm of checkerboard floors and wrought-iron beds, rooms are rather basic. The high-ceilinged 2nd-floor salón social (sitting room) is a delightful place to read or gaze out over the square. Rates are complex, with prices nearly doubling from Thursday to Saturday.
