Outrigger Konotta Maldives Resort

Southern Atolls

Atop a circular reef that's great for snorkelling, this breathtakingly lovely island features perfect turquoise waters and dreamy white-sand beaches fringed by swaying palms. Deep in the remotest corner of giant Huvadhoo atoll, it has quietly developed a reputation as a genuine place to escape. The resort offers a very good price-quality ratio.

The vast rooms here start at 215 sq metres; nearly all have their own plunge pools. Top of the pile is the impressive two-storey overwater Grand Konotta Villa, which sleeps six and enjoys its own huge infinity pool.

There are three main restaurants including the excellent Nala Rah teppan grill, which serves up classic Japanese dishes.

You'll find all the amenities you'd expect from a five star resort, including an indulgent spa, a full water sports centre, a diving school and a programme of excursions throughout the atoll.
