This unique beachside dwelling, located on the wild and undeveloped eastern side of the Santubong Peninsula, is reachable only via a 30-minute boat ride from Kampung Buntal (RM50 return) or a two-hour hike. Accommodation is in a four-room wooden longhouse or three stand-alone A-frame bungalows. Solar panels provide 24-hour electricity and water comes (filtered) from a mountain stream.
The homestay is run by a French couple who built it themselves using recycled materials where possible; the time and care that went into the construction are evident in the design details, such as the dining room's atap (thatched) roof and the glass bottles used in some of the walls. Activities include walking or kayaking to a nearby beach. Lunch and dinner cost RM14 to RM45. Two-night minimum stay; no children under 12.
