Kota Bharu

For a favourite local breakfast, get here before 9am when the excellent nasi kerabu (blue rice with coconut, fish and spices) often sells out. Nutty-flavoured rice combines with a variety of subtle Kelantanese curries, and optional extras include eggs and crunchy crackers.

It’s also a top spot for an iced coffee or other snacks like popiah (fresh spring rolls) from the other stallholders filling the heritage space. On Friday and Saturday they also offer laksa.
