This smart place may seem stranded on the far side of the flyovers immediately east of central JB, but it's a short walk to the action and prices are good. The website paints a more classic picture than what you find, but rooms are comfortable, service is quiet and congenial and there's a space or two for cars out front.
Note that the cheapest rooms come without a window, so it's worth spending the extra RM10 to upgrade to a windowed double. Breakfast is cereal, toast, eggs, coffee and juice. The hotel has a lift.
