This central, self-styled 'heritage hostel' occupies a century-old shophouse once used for radio repairs. The building still has the original ceilings, floors and fiendishly steep stairs and has been thoughtfully redecorated. The 12-bed mixed dorm and private rooms share a shower and toilet. Reception closes at 7pm, so email or ring if you expect to arrive late.
Old radio equipment has been repurposed to decorate the place – look out for lampshades made from pliers and large speakers that have been transformed into tables.
