This museum provides a good (if dry) introduction to the island's history and culture, from precolonial days through British and Japanese occupation, WWII and the establishment of Labuan as an independent federal territory – a lot of history and turbulence for a tiny island. Upstairs are displays on the different ethnic groups that have made the island home.
The small History Sq, at the entrance to the museum, displays memorials to WWII events.
