Thumbi View Lodge

Malawi

On the lane opposite Thumbi View's gate, this cafe serves light meals and snacks such as vegetable curry, spaghetti Bolognese, lasagne, fish, burgers and toasted sandwiches. Book by 1pm to join the set dinner, which typically consists of Indian or South African dishes such as slow-cooked oxtail from the owners' homeland, in the main lodge.

Like all self-respecting South Africans, they slap some steak on the braai (barbecue) on Friday night (MK4500).
