Thumbi View's rooms are unexciting but comfortable, and, with two- to four-bed en-suite dorms, there's a good chance you'll have one to yourself. The public areas, meanwhile, have major appeal: the beachfront bar has a sunset pool deck and pizza oven, craftspeople sell their wares at the entrance, a firepit glows at night, and the TV room shows sports matches.
Cape Maclear Scuba is based here, and accommodation packages including diving, kayaking or catamaran cruises are offered. Breakfast and lunch are served in the cafe on the lane at the rear, while set dinners of Indian and South African dishes such as oxtail are served in the main lodge.
