Beirut

Beirut is a city of special flatbread moments, and this is one of the best. The classic Armenian breakfast lahme baajin – spiced ground beef on thin dough, baked in a hot oven until crispy – is at its finest at this one-dish, one-chef operation. There is also a vegetarian, mushroom-based version here. It's a bit out of the way, but worth the trip.
