Manichan Guesthouse

Run by Andy and Venus, Manichan is big on personality and warmth, with air-con rooms and terrific breakfasts, including crêpes, homemade jams and wholemeal bread, fruit salads and yoghurt. Upper rooms share a bathroom worthy of a boutique hotel, plus a wide terrace with Phu Si views, while ground-floor rooms have en suite bathrooms with screened showers.
