Daauw Home is run by a lovely Hmong family, and your stay in a cosy bungalow near the heart of town enables you to contribute something to women's empowerment and minority rights, as this place is a grassroots initiative run by Project Kajsiab. Simple rooms and bungalows come with hammock, balcony and private bathroom.
There's a small handicrafts shop, and you can also volunteer here. It's located just off the stairs to Wat Jom Khao Manilat, halfway up on the right-hand side.
