This is a classic Japanese-style steak house, where the meat is cooked at the counter on a teppan (iron hotplate), diced, then paired with rice, miso soup and pickles. The beef is high-grade wagyū (beef from Japanese black cattle) and priced very reasonably. We recommend ordering the chef's special (lunch/dinner ¥4000/7000), which is a choice cut of meat selected daily.
Steak House Satou is run by the butcher on the ground floor, which also sells menchi-katsu (メンチカツ; ¥240; deep-fried, minced-beef croquettes) to take away. They're considered among the best in Tokyo and you can spot the shop by the regular queue for these.
