This pioneering macrobiotic restaurant has been running since 1976, long enough to see many a Harajuku trend come and go (and to see some famous visitors, like Sir Paul McCartney). Chef Yamada’s menu is heavily vegan, but also includes free-range chicken and Ezo shika (Hokkaidō venison). Inside, the restaurant looks like a grown-up tree fort and features several cosy, semiprivate booths.
